Understanding the Industrial Manufacturing Sector

Hello! My name is Cindy and I am here to tell you all about the industrial manufacturing sector. I am by no means an expert in this area. However, since my husband started working in the sector, I had picked up a lot of useful knowledge which I would like to share here. You probably rely on the industrial and manufacturing sector much more than you first realise. Every day you will use products which have been manufactured in an industrial plant and so it can't hurt to understand a little more about where they come from. I hope you like my blog!

3 Top Advantages of Over-Moulding Thermoplastic Bicycle Grip Handles

Over the course of the last two years—between 2016 and 2017—Australia has seen an increase in bicycle sales by almost half a million. If you are planning to start a small-scale bicycle spare parts manufacturing plant, then it is strategic to zero in on thermoplastic (TPV) bicycle grip handles for different reasons. For instance, you can stay ahead of the competition by over-moulding TPVs. This article highlights some of the advantages of over-moulding thermoplastic for bicycle grip handles.

Oil and Grease Resistance -- Bicycle use requires a high level of safety, given that cyclists' bodies are always exposed to hazards. Therefore, your clients need handles that promise the highest level of safety. Regular plastic or rubber is not resistant to grease or oil; therefore, riders are more likely to lose their grip if the above compounds find their way onto the handles. However, this is not the case with thermoplastics that have been over-moulded. TPV over-moulded bicycle handles are resistant to oil and grease, which ensures functional grip performance, thereby reducing the possibility of accidents resulting from slippery hand grips.

Longevity -- One of the advantages of injection-moulding thermoplastics is that you can quickly produce bicycle handles in a variety of colours. You can customise products based on clients' needs and specifications. However, injection-moulded handles in white or bright colours tend to fade over time. While the functionality of bicycle handles is not affected by colour weathering, the aesthetics take a beating. Over-moulding helps to prevent such weathering by making the handles resistant to ultra-violet rays that break down bright colours. Therefore, bicycle owners are guaranteed that the colour of the grip handles will remain the same for years. Also, the addition of a second layer during over-moulding makes bicycle handles waterproof, thereby protecting the plastic components.

Improves Cycling Ergonomics -- Whoever owns a bicycle, whether competitive or recreational, would not pass the chance of cycling in the Australian Outback. The rugged terrain offers an adventure for bike-trip lovers. However, the rugged nature of the Outback means that riders have to contend with lots of vibrations that can reach uncomfortable levels. Over-moulded thermoplastic grip handles isolate the vibrations and cushion a rider's palms. Therefore, instead of bike owners spending hundreds of dollars on shock-absorbing suspensions, they can order quality ergonomic handles from you. The result is an ergonomic grip for a smooth ride.
