Understanding the Industrial Manufacturing Sector

Hello! My name is Cindy and I am here to tell you all about the industrial manufacturing sector. I am by no means an expert in this area. However, since my husband started working in the sector, I had picked up a lot of useful knowledge which I would like to share here. You probably rely on the industrial and manufacturing sector much more than you first realise. Every day you will use products which have been manufactured in an industrial plant and so it can't hurt to understand a little more about where they come from. I hope you like my blog!

Protect Your Warehouse Concrete Floor with These Top Products

As a warehouse owner or manager, you know the importance of maintaining your concrete floor. A damaged floor can lead to safety hazards, decreased productivity and an unprofessional appearance. That's why investing in high-quality coating products is essential to protect and maintain your warehouse concrete floor, but what type of coatings should you consider?

Epoxy Coatings

Epoxy coatings are the most popular choice for warehouse floors due to their durability, chemical resistance and ease of maintenance. The coating is applied in two layers: the first is a primer, and the second is the epoxy coating. The primer penetrates the pores of the concrete and creates a strong bond with the epoxy, providing a long-lasting finish. Epoxy coatings come in a range of colours, and you can choose the level of glossiness you want.

Polyaspartic Coatings

Polyaspartic coatings are an advanced type of coating that is gaining popularity among warehouse owners. This coating is many times more durable and chemically resistant than epoxy coatings, making it ideal for the harsh conditions of a warehouse. The application process is similar to epoxy coatings, but the curing time is faster, meaning you can get back to business sooner. Polyaspartic coatings are also UV resistant, preventing discolouration and fading.

Concrete Densifiers

Concrete densifiers are sealers that react with the concrete to create a chemical bond, making the surface tougher and more durable. While they don't provide a gloss finish like epoxy or polyurethane coatings, they are an excellent choice for high-traffic areas as they strengthen the concrete surface. They also increase resistance to spills, stains and abrasion, making maintenance more manageable.

Urethane Coatings

If you're looking for a coating that adds more resilience to your concrete floor, then urethane coatings are the way to go. They provide a thick, protective layer that is resistant to chemicals, abrasion and impact. Urethane coatings are also ideal for high humidity or moisture environments as they offer excellent water resistance. They come in a range of colours and finishes, including gloss, semi-gloss and matte.

Sealers

Sealers are an excellent option if you're looking for a budget-friendly way to protect your warehouse floor. While they don't provide the same level of durability as coatings, they still offer an extra layer of protection against stains, water and abrasion. Sealers come in various options, including acrylic, penetrating, and topical, so you can choose the one that best suits your needs.

The Next Steps

Investing in the right coating product will not only improve the appearance of your warehouse but will also protect your floor from damage and increase its lifespan.
